What is Purple Day?

Purple Day is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide. It is observed annually on March 26th. People from around the world host events, wear purple and take to social media to create awareness.

How Did Purple Day Start?

Purple Day was created by nine year old Cassidy Megan from Nova Scotia after she was diagnosed with epilepsy.  She soon realized that many people had little understanding of epilepsy and that’s when Purple Day was born.  Her goal was to get people talking about epilepsy and letting others with epilepsy know that they were not alone.
